Admission to the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering

Admission requirements for incoming students to the Kansas State University Carl R. Ice College of Engineering do not include standardized test scores (ACT/SAT), nor is there a cap on the number of students admitted to any of the degree programs.

Pathway to admission

First-year students

A first-year student is someone who has not enrolled at another college or university within one year of graduating from high school. To be admitted directly into one of the 14 degree programs or engineering undecided, a student must meet the following criteria:

3.00 high school GPA (weighted or unweighted)

^{Note: The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering reviews applicants on a weekly basis. Students who have been admitted to Kansas State University but do not meet the engineering GPA will be reviewed individually. Those not admitted directly to the College of Engineering will be placed in their secondary choice of degree program selected on their application.}

Transfer students

A transfer student is someone who has enrolled at another college or university since graduating from high school. To be admitted directly into one of the 14 degree programs or engineering undecided, a student must meet the following criteria:

2.75 cumulative GPA on all transfer coursework

Military-connected and non-traditional students

Internal transfer students

An internal transfer is a student who is currently attending K-State and would like to transfer into the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering. To be admitted directly into one of the 14 degree programs or engineering undecided, a student must have met the following criteria:

minimum of 12 completed K-State credit hours
2.50 K-State GPA
“C” or better in first calculus course in the math sequence for a specific degree program

International students

Graduate students
