Dee Hays is a solution-focused CEO that drives Excellence Engineering, LLC and HeelzFirst, LLC. Hays earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering from Kansas State University and later, her OPM degree from the Harvard School of Business. She has naturally acquired the label of serial entrepreneur after starting multiple successful businesses of which three have sold and two remain operational. She is a strategic, high-performing, analytical leader whose passion is client service and business growth through people and problem-solving.

As the founder of Excellence Engineering, Hays has focused on solutions that integrate new technologies and ESG incentives with proven methods for the energy, utility and manufacturing sectors.

She currently serves on a variety of nonprofit boards that focus on STEM, women, and animal wellbeing. She is a member of the Governor’s Council on Workforce and Economic Development for the state of Oklahoma and is a member of that group’s workforce system oversight committee. She also served on the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance Advisory Board and is a governor-appointed commissioner for the Oklahoma Universal Building Codes Commission.
