Brownfields and Urban Gardening Seminar 2011

This seminar, Brownfields and Urban Gardening, is intended for extension agents, community leaders, regulators, educators, and gardeners, as well as students and faculty in engineering, horticulture, agronomy, food science, and NRES (natural resources and environmental sciences). The seminar will focus on potential contaminants present in brownfields soils, the sampling and chemical analysis of those soils, bioavailability of contaminants, status of the regulatory environment regarding contaminant levels in food crops, best management practices to safely garden on brownfields, and information on available resources.
