Tuesday, February 4, 2014
MANHATTAN -- The opportunity for Kansas State University students to network with more than 150 employers over a two-day period will be offered again at the 2014 Engineering Career Fair.
The fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 11 and 12 on the second floor of the K-State Student Union. Companies from the engineering field will visit campus to recruit students for employment opportunities.
This year’s fair has 151 companies registered to attend -- the maximum registration -- including Black & Veatch, BNSF, Burns & McDonnell, Cargill, Cerner, Garmin, Koch Industries, Payless ShoeSource, Perceptive Software, Sega, Union Pacific and Westar Energy. Additionally, for the first time at the fair there will be nine employers attending both days.
A number of companies also will take part in Next Day Interviews on Feb. 12 and 13. This on-campus opportunity allows students to interview for positions with companies they meet at the fair.
Students are strongly encouraged to prepare for the fair by reviewing the Engineering Career Fair LiveBinder at http://bit.ly/1awIzKn. The LiveBinder has beneficial information for maximizing career fair success, including information on appropriate attire, resume writing, interviewing skills, tips on how to work a career fair and a list of registered companies with a map for the day of the event.
The annual Engineering Career Fair is sponsored by the university’s career and employment services, the College of Engineering and the Multicultural Engineering Program.
