K-State Baja SAE team takes fourth in winter competition
The contest features the off-road racing of recreational vehicles built within the guidelines of the Society of Automotive Engineers. This specific competition is unique because the main endurance race is run on an ice track. K-State took 12 students and four different vehicles on the trip.

A $2.5 million national grant will be used by Kansas State University and four other educational institutions in Kansas to help students find success in science, technology, engineering and math -- or STEM -- careers, regardless of their race, ethnicity or economic status.

Former Salina area residents' endowment aims to make difference for prospective students
