Larry E. and Laurel Erickson Public Service Award

This award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has been employed in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering for at least five years and has demonstrated exemplary public service. Awardees receive a $2,500 cash prize, and selection is based on the following criteria:

  1. Letter of nomination by a college employee.
  2. Current copy of the curriculum vitae of the nominee.
  3. Nominee’s statement (limited to two pages) describing the public service activities during the prior five years.
  4. Letter of support from a faculty or staff member of the college.
  5. Letter of support from an individual who has knowledge of the exemplary public service of the nominee.

Gary A. Clark

This year’s recipient is Gary Clark, senior associate dean in the College of Engineering.

  • Over the last five years, Clark

    has provided service to many organizations, including the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, ABET, Engineers Without Borders and the U.S. Agency for International Development Farmer-to-Farmer program, as well as served as a faculty advisor to Engineering Student Council and the K-State Chapter of Engineers Without Borders.

  • Clark has served ASABE in a variety of leadership roles that led to his induction as an ASABE fellow. This recognition is only bestowed upon those who have provided exemplary service.
