Larry E. and Laurel Erickson Public Service Award
This award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has been employed in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering for at least five years and has demonstrated exemplary public service. Awardees receive a $2,500 cash prize, and selection is based on the following criteria:
- Letter of nomination by a college employee.
- Current copy of the curriculum vitae of the nominee.
- Nominee’s statement (limited to two pages) describing the public service activities during the prior five years.
- Letter of support from a faculty or staff member of the college.
- Letter of support from an individual who has knowledge of the exemplary public service of the nominee.
Current recipient

Kimberly Waggle Kramer
This year’s recipient is Kimberly Waggle Kramer, professor in the GE Johnson Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science.
Through her sustained involvement with several technical and governance organizations, Kramer has made and continues to make tremendous, positive impacts on the construction industry as a whole. She has accomplished this by sharing her knowledge and experience within the professional engineering communities to further the safety of the public and by educating and mentoring future generations of emerging professionals to increase the potential of their future contributions to the public.
